Voice Activated LED Box

 Designer:  Alex Alanoly

Abstract

The goal of this project is to provide a box that turns on LEDs using the voice of the user. The voice box is user independent so it should be programmable to recognize a user’s voice when it is turned on or switch to another user. The user will first record their voice, through the microphone, by saying all the different colors they pick on the keypad into the box. Then whenever that user says the color the corresponding LED will turn on immediately. This project is not only useful to teach users to recognize the seven different colors but also good for entertaining.

This project is for the sensory room at the Nashua Center, which is a place where teachers show so much dedication and honest care to their students who are mentally and/or physically unable to take care of themselves. This voice activated LED box would not only be effective in entertaining these students but also teach them basic cause and effect skills.
