This device that I have created is a Voice Activated Remote Control (VARC) that enables people with severe physical disabilities to control the television set via voice commands. The HM2007 voice recognition chip was used instead of VR stamp. The VARC unit has a voice input block that can pick up user’s natural voice commands and converting them into digital outputs. There were a total of eight commands programmable with this device. A confirmation command was also used to verify the command to lower the noise. I.e., the VARC will reject more noise signals and will not recognize any kind of noise as a command and thus will work much better in a noisy environment.
