Abstract
The Tactile Imager is a device designed to help the visually impaired people experience images in a way that allows them to feel them. This is done by a square array of 324 solenoid actuators which can be controlled to actuate in the shape of an image. The result is a textured representation of a flat image. Using the tactile imager, a visually impaired person can experience images that would otherwise be inaccessible.
