Portable Touch Screen Communication

A Device that Enables the Non-verbal to Communicate

 Designer:  Matthew B. Johnsen

Client: Cathy Reilly, Rockport, MA

Abstract

The Portable Touch Screen Communication device is designed to aid non-verbal people to communicate with others. The device is portable and will operate in virtually any environment. The device interface uses an LCD and touch screen to allow the user to pick any previously recorded message to play through the device’s speaker. By touching the LCD, the device plays back a previously recorded message corresponding to its box and picture. This device enables a person to improve his/her verbal skills while facilitating his/her ability to better communicate with others.
