Non-Verbal Communication Response System

A device that provides better communications

 Designer:  Chansophan Sim

Client: Chuck Morgan, Malden High School at Malden MA

Abstract

This communication Response System is a portable electronic device that can be used by non-verbal people, designed to program six audio messages with six push down buttons. Each button will output the recorded messages when it is pressed. A set of instructions will be given to the caretaker to pre-record the message. By selecting and depressing a button on the communication response system, a signal is sent to the basic stamp bs2e chip and it will trigger the ISD25120 chip to output the audio message through the speaker. Thus, this device will allow the caretaker to easily understand the problem that the non-verbal person is having. There are six inputs that are assigned for the six switches. These switches will need to be depressed for the communication device being used, to operate under the command stored in the ISD25120 chip
