Individual GPS Tracking Device

 Designer:  Timothy Driscoll

Client: Hogan Regional Center, MA

Abstract

The Individual GPS Device was designed to allow primary caregivers to monitor the location of individuals in their care that tend to wander away from home, which allows the parent to locate the autistic child easily using a mobile handheld device. This device is constructed with a pair of Garmin Rino 120, modified for ease of use and continuous position updating, which are designated as the home unit and the remote unit. Two timing circuits are used to send the position of the remote unit to the home unit and in an emergency call circuit, which is used to sound a buzzer transmitted to the home unit via the walkie talkie function when the user presses the emergency call button.
