A voice-Activated phone was
designed for an elderly woman with limited vision and
moderate arthritis. Voice commands allow the user of
this phone to place calls without the need to look-up phone
numbers or press buttons, however, the phone can still be
used as a normal telephone. This device makes life
easier because voice commands do the work for dialing a
phone number.
The voice-activated phone
consists of three parts: a voice recognition circuit, a
telephone, and a dialing circuit. The voice
recognition circuit is based on the HM2007 voice recognition
chip. The HM2007 selects the proper voice command number
from the RAM and passes it to the microcontroller. After
receiving the stored word number, the microcontroller
responds by “dialing” phone number associated with the voice
command number.
