The
voice activated speakerphone was designed to help enable
clients who can not lift their arms or move their hands but
still have a strong voice to pick up phone calls and make
telephone calls using voice commands. The project
simply modifies an existing telephone and interfaces it with
a voice recognition circuit to enable usage.
The project consists a voice
recognition system (HM2007 VR chip) and a
microcontroller (Basic
Stamp 2e). The HM2007 VR chip can recognize 20 to 40
programmed words. Basic
Stamp 2e is used to switch on and off the speakerphone and
also dial phone numbers. When given a voice command,
the HM2007 will send high or low signals to the Basic Stamp
2e to perform a specific instruction.
